1604 error help i think mine is diff from others

i keep getting the 1604 error. i know the screen suppose to be black when its in dfu mode but mine has the apple icon & usb (aint that recovery mode) i cant get it to go in dfu mode should i restore it ? i just got it from apple today because my other one was done.

If you cant get it into DFU mode, your not doing it right. It HAS to be in DFU mode to work, "recovery mode" wont work.
