What to do after pwnage

Hey I am just getting ready to pwn my 2.0 3g iphone to 2.01 but I was wondering after I pwn it shall i restore it as a backup of the iphone or set up as a new iphone and what would be the advantages and disadvantages of either?

I was having trouble restoring - going to try to set up as new phone now... (as i am literally writing the post )

Choose set up as new phone. I chose back up and iTunes thought I was plugging in a new phone everytime I tried to sync. Once I chose new phone everything went smoothly and I didn't lose my SMS or notebook documents.

set up as new phone or restore from your backup, it doesnt matter.

If you try to restore, if gives you the same screen after its done asking if you would like to restore or set up as new. I can't remember exactly what I did but i'm pretty sure I restored, then when the same screen showed, I unplugged the iphone, when it was safe of course, and then plugged it back in again. I still have everything that I used to have so i guess it worked.
