ok just downloaded iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108_Custom_Restore.ipsw file and loaded it using
winpwn 2.0.0.3 RC1 im using windows , the problem is that it doesn't load the file at all!!

How will i be able to jailbreak my factory unlocked 3g iphone and i already have the iphone 3g firmwire 2.0.1 update installed, since the pwnage 2.0.2 is only for mac users

Any idea on how to make it work on windows??

all you have to do is restore you phone with that ipsw and it will be pwn

where should i keep the iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108_Custom_Restore.ipsw file for itunes to restore from it??

Is there a way to load the file in itunes??

put iphone in dfu mode

put ipsw on desktop

in itunes hold shift key + click restore

search for the custom ipsw and chose it to restore iphone

will go through a series of extractions and verfiyings and then done

when i put iphone in dfu mode the device disappears from itunes so i cant restore it

is this the right way to turn it to dfu mode??

It gets stuck in Preparing iphone for restore msg and then shows an error msg tried 4 times now!!

How do I manually download the update from apple or itunes?

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. In iTunes click "iTunes/Check for updates" then choose "download only".

One problem may be that from what I gather. You do not have to put it into DFU mode this time. If you had already used a previous version. Yes you had to put into DFU mode. However, this time it told me to put it into RECOVERY MODE.
There is a small difference.

I'm using windows. So if I have a 1st gen pwnd and unlocked 2.0 iphone, then all I need to do is restore in itunes using the custom firmware? Will I then need to unlock it with boot neuter?
