2.0.1 firmware update questions

So I see the 2.0.1 firmware is out and the dev team says that 1st gen iphones will always be unlockable/jailbroken at some point.

Here's me question:
If in the future (when the jailbreak is available) if i want to upgrade to a newer firmware and stay jailbroken, will i lose all my contacts, txt messages, apps, etc? I assume it will be the same as when you guys upgraded 1.1.x right? how did that work? reinstalling everything could get to be a pain.

Txt's and contacts shud be restorable through the backup itunes does, but any hack'd apps will be gone. Stuff purchased in the appstore should also be in the backup.
