Stuck In Recovery Mode. (2.0 software with Pwnage)

I tried to update my friends phone which had been used on att with 2.0 and unlock it to t-mobile(he sold it to another friend) using pwnage but ended up in recovery mode. I think my issue is that i tried to use the same ispw that i used for my phone. I should have gone through the steps in Pwnage again instead but i thought they would work the same. now i have an iphone in recovery mode. and cannot put in DFU. Pwnage worked on mine though
