Pwnage 1.1 still no service can someone please help me out?

I tried Pwnage 1.0 on a friends iPhone that had never been modded before it was still a completely legit iPhone. After doing step by step via the guide here we got no service.

My phone was Ziphoned when that method first came out, and i really didnt like it, it seemed buggy to me. I then tried it today on my iPhone via same guide doing everything and still no service now with 1.1 as well...

I can't understand what i am doing wrong im on AT&T the only place i cant see is that im not choosing the right options under Create ISPW when your creating the custom firmware.

Any help would be great guys you always deliver!

I've seen many cases with AT&T iPhone Plan users not getting service. The initial "solution" was to just unlock the phone anyways and people were able to get service that way, but i believe that after pwning and restoring with the custom firmware, you need to activate the phone with itunes. See if that works...

I used Ziphone as well to get me to 1.1.4 but once pwnage came out I figured I would give it a try. To make sure I had a smooth transition I reinstalled 1.1.4 on iTunes. I didn't want it going from Ziphone hack to another hack from pwnage not sure if thats what you did. Also, once I installed pwnage it showed my phone service with no signal. Once I restarted the iPhone it picked up my phone signal and it has been working great since then.

Hope this helps

um no i don't recommend unlocking it since you don't have to. i only mentioned as it was mentioned as a problem before. go back to the original pwnage thread in news section. i know it's long but do a search for this issue and see if you can find how other people fixed it

but if you feel comfortable with the unlocking process then yes, choose unlock activate. don't touch the bootloaders

ok maybe this is the problem

i just tried to do it again

shuld your iPhone at any time throughout the process have to be put into restore mode a second time?

i say this because the guide says 3 or 4 times

""Your iPhone / iPod Touch should still be plugged and and in recovery mode.""

well mine doesnt and it is weird after iPwner finsihes it goes back to the home screen...

after you pwn your phone and prior to creating the custom firmware, you DO have to put your phone into recovery mode again manually. so that has nothing to do with your phone not getting signal. try following this guide. I think it's very clear: www.hackthatphone.com

First, sorry to revive a dead thread! I had the same question and wanted to post my solution.

Just used the Pwnage Tool to jailbreak my phone ONLY -- I was experiencing the no service problem and couldn't find a solution until this thread. If you use Pwnage and you only want to jailbreak, make SURE you have all boxes unticked in the IPSW builder (including the Activate Phone option). Then, follow standard installation instructions.

Thanks!
