Pwnage Tool wont recognize .ipsw...hmmm
When I open the program, and go to "Browse .ipsw", it allows me to select with file. Well, when I select my 1.1.3 it says it "can't recognize this version"
Anyone else getting this?
Also, could someone walk me thru the process of renaming .zip files on Mac?
I download the firmware, and it downloads as a .zip. Once done, it automatically unlocks the folder. So then, I have to go to the trash bin, find the zip that was discarded, pull it out of the trash can, and unlock that...that cant be right. Has to be a more efficient way.

No, Actually it only works with 1.1.4/2.0 I have chosen all other firmwares and only these two are recognized. It also explains this on the wiki page.

QuickPwn does the same thing. I try to "browse" and attach the exact same ipsw file that I used to upgrade and it doesn't recognize it. QuickPwn actually changes the name of the file it grabs like saying "1,1_2.0" instead of "1,2_2.0". What the f***?? I'm so tired of these lame "up to date" software. You can knock AnySim all you want, but it worked for me to unlock over a dozen phones with no problems!

Where's "here"? There's no link. Also, I'm using QuickPwn not Pwnage tool, just to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

I don't understand. Yea I can use a search box, but that doesn't tell me which version of QuickPwn I'm supposed to download or exactly what you mean by "getting the correct ...". How do I match them up?
Right now, I have QuickPwn 2.25 so does that mean I need a different version to match up with firmware 2.2.0 ? A little more detail please.
Edit: Just tried it Broomhead. Same result. I downloaded QuickPwn 2.2 along with the ipsw file next to it. No success. QuickPwn keeps looking for a firmware like "1,1_2.0" which isn't the same name as the firmware I used to restore. Renaming the ipsw to match exactly doesn't help. Shouldn't QuickPwn 2.25 work with all prior versions of the firmware?
Any other suggestions?Last edited by dt3001; 03-16-2009 at 10:42 PM.

2.25 is for 2.2.1 - 2.2 is for 2.2 not sure why your having this problem.
try downloading the firmware again, form the thread with the tool in it.
