Looking for advice on iBook purchase - Mac nerds help
Looking for some advice on the purchase of an iBook. Hope someone see's this since this forum doesn't get seen too much.
I wanna buy my old lady an iBook. I found this add on craigslist.
I am selling my mother's (i.e. never used except for email) Apple iBook G4. Here are the specs:
1.25 gigs DDR SDRAM
1.2 GHz PowerPC g4
60Gig hard drive
Mac OSX 10.3.9
DVD + CD-RW
Airport wireless card
14" monitor
Serial number available
there is one problem and that is that the mouse pad doesn't work (common problem with this model). You can either get it fixed or just use an external mouse. I will throw in a free USB mouse.
Here is more information:
iBook G4 Late 2004 model (but with extra RAM)
run Leopard smoothly? Yes
will I be able to install and run Adobe CS3 (or maybe CS4) smoothly? Yes
Is this a good price and should I buy it? No more then $600
I have the same iBook, If you can't get a better price then $600, Let me know, I'll set you up with mine and the track pad works on mine
yeah.. That's a good price. Enjoy
You should ask if the battery has been replaced.. If it has not been replaced, you may want look into getting a new one. 5 years is a long time.
Hi, I just saw your post. $400-450 and I would buy a new battery. I would install Leopard iLife iWork and the MS Office 2004 suite. 14 inch is a nice screen size. Go for it!
