yeah, iv downgraded to 4.1 too but that didnt work, the wifi bluetooth and airplane mode was greyed out

You can fix your baseband by restoring to 5.1. I am assuming you have one of the newer 8gb model 3GS. Do you know what carrier it is locked to?

Ya that's hosts file error. Did you get any baseband related error once you fixed your hosts?

Ya, it is. Baseband is definitely corrupt. Doing what I said before wont help either since I thought it was a 8gb then. Not an easy fix. I think it can be fixed if you manually flash the baseband chip but that is a pretty difficult thing to do I think.

+1. Just do some research and make sure it isn't a scam site. I know baseband chip replacement is doable, I just haven't really seen too many people have it done.
