Default Cydia crashes after Sn0wbreeze JB to 5.0.1
A couple of days ago I used my girlfriends iPhone 4 (4.3.3 JB) as the guinea pig for the update/JB to 5.0.1 and everything went fine, everything worked great after I reinstalled the apps again.

So I went ahead and prepped an IPSW for my phone with some sources and deb files and did the restore.
everything worked but Cydia would crash upon opening.

So I tried again with another IPSW built the same way as my girlfriends....nothing added.
    Cydia crahed upon opening again.

and now I'm stuck. I can't find a solution for fixing cydia with a sn0wbreeze JB and re-jailbreaking doesnt fix it either.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

If I restore it as new will I be able to restore a backup so I don't lose everything?

I'm going to try doing the one thing I haven't tried yet and use the IPSW that I used for my girlfriends phone. If that doesn't work, then I'm boned I guess.

You can restore and make a backup and see if that works.

I think I got it working. I used the IPSW that I used for my girlfriends phone and it worked. Cydia loaded and prepared filesystem, then hung on a black screen, but when I closed and reopened it, it worked.

I just finished adding sources, so I'll get ******* installed and then sync my apps and music back and see if it all worked out

    Forum Rules

Talking about warez sites or cracked apps is against the forum rules.

I would buy your apps from the devs and stay away from the cracked apps and repos

sorry, I didn't think I was talking about that stuff. I'll need to go over the rules again I haven't been around for a while.
99% of my apps are purchased. I only trial stuff, I don't have the money to waste on an app that may not be what I'm looking for when I know it's what I need I'll spend the money on it. This includes cydia purchases of stuff like pkgbackup (which just messed up my once again functional phone)

Ya pkgbackup has been an issue lately with the new update. Causing more problems then helping.

This is really getting tiresome now. I have done multiple restores to no avail.

I used my girlfriends IPSW and everything worked great, then pkgbackup screwed it all up agaiun, and now I cannot get cydia to load for the life of me.

This is using the same working IPSW as before, even making new ones and downloading them fresh.

wtf is going on here and why did it only work once, and why will it not work with a previously working IPSW on my phone.

I need to get my phone back in full operation.

Pkgbackup has been causing issues since 5.0 I would stay away from it.

Well I will now, but I'd really like to get cydia/my phone working 100% again.

What's so strange is that the IPSW worked on my girlfriends phone, then worked on mine, and now the same IPSW will NOT work on my phone again. neither will re-downloading and rebuilding them. so it must be some circumstance or some computer related thing that is not happening now?!?!?

no but thats just about my next step. I'm on a fair sized home network so I have a couple different computers to try that shouldn't be too difficult.

Well this has been a pain. I managed to get it working again seemingly as a fluke, then it stopped working randomly so I just did a restore without re-JB'ing and it worked again.

It seems to be working now but the springboard is choppy when sliding between pages, however it works fine sliding up and down.

This is maybe an issue caused due to infinifolders or infiniboard.

Yes I have info board and it causes a bit of lag on the sliding left to right.

Default Cydia keeps crashing after jail braking it with "Redsn0w 0.9.10b5"
If I may add, could anyone guide me?

My question is, Am on Old Boot ROM Cydia crashes after Sn0wbreeze JB to 5.0.1-f0recast.jpg

Am on Custom ISPW 5.0.1, this one:
iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak/unlock using these Custom ipsw files

I jailbroke it with "Redsn0w 0.9.10b5" but Cydia keeps crashing, after fully loading once. As a matter the phone keeps on randomly rebooting.

Even though I have successfully installed your 5.0.1 custom IPSW, but I can't get it activated.
Am on Airtel India, sim card. Previously it was on firmware 4.1 (unlocked and jailbroken)but it was randomly rebooting, especially
    whenever i pressed Notes.
