He mentioned in a tweet the reason he released greenposi0n was because in the betas it was patched already.

I thought the exploit used in jailbreaking 4.2.1 for most of the iDevice family was not Shatter but a different exploit. Shatter was designed specifically for the iPhone 4 only. @p0sixninja tweeted on March 3 that

Since then, I haven't seen any tweets from @p0sixninja that said SHAtter is dead. I reasonably sure that the GreenPois0n RC5/RC6 Exploit was not SHAtter.

Well we were talking about greenposi0n and the current version that is out is using an exploit that was closed. So I am unsure of the SHAtter exploit on if it is still there. There was a few tweets flying today on who is going to release because of the convention going on right now for hackers.

@0xcharlie dropped his exploit without harnessing it, which in fairness, was probably smart, as it was a Safari exploit that could do a LOT more harm than good. Its only use I've seen thus far is data offloading, and it'd need a lot more work for iOS 4.3 with its ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization). This one will probably prompt a firmware update from Apple anyway.

@SecureTips won't disclose their kSec exploit that I know for a fact works on iOS 4.3, that's their choice.

Just like cero said, no. The most likely source for a jailbreak for 4.3 is i0n1c like orb said.

You need a little background info. Greenpois0n actually uses the source code and exploit in Limera1n from Geohot. Greenpois0n in its /current/ state will NOT jailbreak iOS 4.3 or any newer devices. If they find a new exploit or borrow one from someone else and release an entirely new version then it will jailbreak 4.3.

It's completely fake. The latest release of Greenpois0n is RC 6.1 and it only jailbreaks 4.2.1, no higher. Any site hosting GP RC7 is mostly likely malware.

If you do not see any annoucements of jailbreaks or unlocks coming from http://blog.iphone-dev.org, http://greenpois0n.com or http://modmyi.com, then it is FAKE.
