iphone 4 MC608ll will not JB with Greenpois0n !
Getting really frustrated here. I JB my iphone 4 and wife's 3gs using GP5 with no problem. Using same computer (win 7 64 bit) I am trying to do 2 friends iphone 4's. I get into dfu mode fine, but it always fails. Tried varying the timing of letting go to no avail. Hit the jailbreak button when it appears and it fails after a few seconds. I read that some people put newest redsn0w on first and then put GP on after, so I did that. Redsn0w worked fine and I have him a tethered JB, but I still want to get GP working. I have used version 5, 6, and now 6.1 using the same ipsw as my phone (and even downloaded a new one). Tried compatibility mode with XP SP2 and SP3, as well as Win 95. Same results. I checked his model # to check to see if it was the same as mine, but it was different. He has model MC608ll, which is only about 2 weeks old. Mine is a few months old. Trying to find a pattern here if someone else has had a problem under similar circumstances. I don't have other iphone 4 with me to check its model at this time.

What gp are you using? Try downloading the current version from GreenPois0n

I used the DFU helper that is packaged in ireb.

I have always been successful with DFU mode in the past, so I'm not sure what that could help, but I am willing to give it a try. If you see the Jailbreak button, shouldn't you be in DFU mode?

I do believe so, once GP detects the device in dfu mode, the "jailbreak" button should become available.

Success at last !! I used ireb to put in DFU mode, but it did not work either. After many, many more attempts trying to get GP on after Redsn0w, still no go. It got to the point where I couldn't even get it to boot using redsn0w. Finally, after remembering a little trick from another post about redsn0w, I set the affinity to a single processor for GP after it was running and tried one more time. Success !! I still have another one to do, so I think it will work knowing this new information. Thanks everyone for all the help. Moral of the story, keep trying and don't give up.

...
You ran Greenpois0n over the existing redsn0w jailbreak? I'm trying to do that with an iPad, but it just fails all the time...

More info on " setting affinity to single processor " please. Im having the same trouble. I've JB 3 iphone 4 with GP 6.1 and I have to keep trying until it "catches". I would love to know what is causing this problem so it can be fixed. It has been taking me about 2 hours per device

Have your phone ready to go and then start GP. After you start it go to Task Manager, then Processes, and look for greenpoison.exe. Right click on it and then go to Set Affinity. See how many processors are being used. Normally all of them will be. If you have a quad core you will see 4 processors (8 for most intel processors). A dual core will show either 2 or 4. Whatever you see, just uncheck all but 1 processor and then proceed with GP. Also as everyone else has said, make sure to run as admin.
