i4 used GP no loader app cant find solution

I have an iphone previously j/b and unlocked on 4.2.1 using custom firmware. Previously using redsn0w tethered. I used green posi0n and it after it was done i had no loader app. i tried running redsn0w to install cydia. Cydia icon was there, but would not open. After a lot of searching around and trying different things(including trying the 2nd version of greenpois0n, the newest version of redsn0w, switching computers, using a mac instead of windows.) I restored back to custom 4.2.1. after activating, i noticed that the cydia icon was still on the homescreen, but I hadn't ran any j/b software. I tried restoring several times, but could not get the cydia icon to go away. Tried running gp again, no luck. tried running redsn0w, no luck there either.

i have noticed that when i run greenposi0n, as soon as text shows up on the screen, i see the unable to find ....
unable to find...
unable to find...
unable to find...
intiializing greenpois0n

then after a little bit the logs start scrolling down the screen and then it hangs up on "unable to load user...". It hangs up there for several minutes, then eventually runs more logs and then reboots. but still no loader app.
please help!! I am stuck. I only post questions as a last resort.

What version of osx is ur comp running? GP plays coy on 10.5.- I finally tried installing snow leopard 10.6.3 and GP worked first friggin time.

It was my brothers Mac, and he said it was on the latest version of OSX. I'll have to double check in the morning.

Yeah check it out and post info. If it's anything 10.5__ I had problems. And after I ran 10.6.3 it went so quick. Just keep checking threads for info on osx versions.

Does it make a difference if green pois0n for windows doesn't work either? They both do the same thing I'm beginning to think there is something wrong with the phone. what is really bothereing me is that even after i restore to custom FW 4.2.1 cydia icon is still on the phone (though it won't open). I tried restoring on a windows and a mac.

Also I just noticed that safari won't open either

Found the solution. You can't run green pois0n over a custom firmware. But here is the solution, and it worked for me.

Ok glad to hear it. Yeah definitely didn't work w a custom fw. It's like a 5th sense slowing learning techniques to hung forums for info lol
