Hi I got iPhone 3GS newbootrom 4.2.1 jailbroken redsnow tethered can I do an untethered greenpoision jailbreak

The people who made the jailbreak (chronic dev team) said Windows would be avable this weekend. You can just use greenpois0n over your teathered jailbreak to make it unteathered.

how do I use Greenpois0n on my iPhone 3GS Old Bootrom? It always says jailbreak failed.

Keep holding the home button after you enter dfu and press jailbreak until you see the scrolling text on your device's screen.

It happend to me on xp after modifying hosts to solve 3194 problem/ reinstalled iTunes.

I've used another computer with win7 and worked perfect. I'll suggest to try that or completely remove anything related to iTunes( you'll find advice on apple website on how to remove error 1601)

My advice is to restore to factory settings on 4.2.1 an it will work if follow instructions.

But first try on different pc.

Yep, I know what he means now. I, meanwhile, I've had a different error and I thought that he had the same. Device started jailbreak but jailbreak failed( that was the message. )Changed computers and that didn't happened again
