I jailbroke my phone today using the limera1n exploit for iphone 3gs OS-4.1 Firmware 05.14.02. Everything went fine and cydia was installed.
Later in the day i deceided to start having a play around with cydia and installed a few things cydia was being a bit strang so i went into manage and seen there was a few files i had not installed and i instantly thought they were harmfull or useless.
I decided to start deleteing them and when i went to delete one it came up with the message (Deleteing this item could cause cydia or your os to stop working). I continued anyway thinking if it was harmfull this is the way they stop people getting rid of it.
When i had deleted it my iphone switched of and restarted Then it was on the Iphone apple logo start up loop and was stuck there, I tried doing the itunes restore but nothing happened, i tried again and the iphone seemed to just switch off and stay that way.
Can anyone shed some light on this situation and help me sort out my phone its only 2 weeks old so kind of stressed about it all.
since you just jailbroke today and have no previous shsh's saved then you will only be able to restore to 4.2.1, you might have to put the phone in either recovery or dfu to restore
Epic Fail
Cydia won't lie to you, if it says uninstalling this will cause damage duh listen to it, hackers aren't going to try to hurt other hackers when it comes to an apple product
You are going to have to restore and rejailbreak I hope for your sake your SSH file is backed up so you don't have go to 4.2.1
Not to Bothered about restoring to 4.2, I did how ever use tinyumbrella and save shs before i jail broke the phone.
But as i mentioned when i tried to restore it just kept on bring its self out of recovery mode so it would loose connection to the computer or the install would just come up with an error. The one time it did make it all the way the restore just completely failed and i got a message (cant rember what it said).
Now the iphone wont switch one but when i connect it to the pc itunes still recognises a iphone that need to be recovered.
Tiny umbrealla doesnt read the iphone is connected to the computer, also since i tried the last itunes restore the iphone wont turn on at all but itunes still registers that there is an iphone that needs to be resored.
