    Default jailbreakme.com - 403 forbidden

    Hi guys

Anyone know why jailbreakme.com would display the 403 - forbidden message? Is it down or has it been stopped?

Just got my iphone 4 and running 4.0.1 btw

    Thanks for any help

    Regards

Haven't seen anything on twitter from Comex about it, hopefully it will be back up soon. This is the biggest downside to a browser based jailbreak, always at the mercy of the server.

I'll have to stay posted as to its status. One Question: If I JB my 3GS (w/ 4.0.1) and decide I don't like it, how hard is it to return to standard?

A restore in itunes will wipe away a jailbreak.

Ok so first thing that you should know is whenever you update software if jailbroken then the jailbreak will be gone. The other thing is that the 4.0.2 update patches the PDF exploit used for the jailbreakme jailbreak. In other words the updat blocks the jailbreak. I can't remember how but there Is a way to downgrade the software. Or you Could use redsn0w to jailbreak on 4.0.2

Redsnow does not jailbreak iPhone 4 and neither will jailbreakme.com on 4.0.2.

Unless you changed its configuration, your new server is configured as follows:
Configuration files can be found in /etc/lighttpd. Please read /etc/lighttpd/conf-available/README file.
The DocumentRoot, which is the directory under which all your HTML files should exist, is set to /var/www.
CGI scripts are looked for in /usr/lib/cgi-bin, which is where Debian packages will place their scripts. You can enable cgi module by using command "lighty-enable-mod cgi".
Log files are placed in /var/log/lighttpd, and will be rotated weekly. The frequency of rotation can be easily changed by editing /etc/logrotate.d/lighttpd.
The default directory index is index.html, meaning that requests for a directory /foo/bar/ will give the contents of the file /var/www/foo/bar/index.html if it exists (assuming that /var/www is your DocumentRoot).
You can enable user directories by using command "lighty-enable-mod userdir"

    Still forbidden!!!

Why jailbreakme.modmyi.com is always redirecting to jailbreakme.com? Isn't an alternative to the main
    Jbme.com server?

Hopefully this gets fixed cos I liked this jailbreak. The whole idea of jailbreaking from safari is pretty cool. And I can't stop myself from laughing when I go into the apple store, look at an iPhone 4 and see the cydia icon at the bottom right of the screen!!!
