iphone 3g 4.0.2 jb

i have updated my iphone to ios 4.0.2 and couldnt jailbreakand then unlock so i took it to a computer store and they returned it to me jailbroken and unlocked via ultrasn0w so my question is how the h*** they did it
iphone is working fine originally locked to att cydia works everything works fine but i wonder how was it done???

also i wonder if it was possible to jailbreak rhis iphone 3g will it be possible to jailbreak 3gs?

Redsn0w 0.9.5 can jb the 3G with 4.0.2 but not the 3GS currently.

Why do you need to downgrade. There's no point. You have a 3g so you can jb it. Plus 4.1 comes out this week so just wait
