    Default 3GS Problem

I got an iPhone 3GS a couple days ago because my old one broke(dropped), and I jailbroke it with blackra1n RC3 today. My other 3GS worked fine when jailbroken with blackra1n rc3, and was not tethered. Today, I jailbroke with the exact same application(blackra1n RC3), and thought something went wrong...I pressed the "make it ra1n" button again, and it booted. When I rebooted it, it was in recovery again(this is was how I found out it was tethered).

Is anyone else out there having this problem, or is it just me?

My iPhone is a white 32GB 3GS with the latest carrier settings update, and firmware 3.1.2(7D11)

I'm having a similar problem with my 3GS. I jailbroke my wife's 3g in 5 seconds flat with Blackra1n and it was the most wonderfully easy jailbreak experience yet. But then when I tried to do likewise with the 3GS, the jailbreak worked fine & dandy but then when I started installing the apps I had on my old phone, it kept going into recovery mode.

It was several "restores" later that I discovered that the quickest solution was merely to run Blackra1n again when it went into recovery mode. However now I have the situation where I can't power off the phone, or anything that involves a reboot without being beside my laptop, as it always goes into recovery mode and I need to connect up the iPhone to run Blackra1n

Any suggestions or workarounds would be most gratefully received, as although it's not a complete disaster, it's not very practical. For example my phone ran out of juice this morning at work and when I plugged it into the charger in the car and powered up, it was stuck in recovery mode and I was left without a phone the entire day, until getting home to my laptop.

And this is a great pity, as like I said, other than this, the Blackra1n jailbreak is absolutely wonderful as it means I no longer have to spend hours on the phone talking friends through the Pwnage process to jailbreak their phones. But I wouldn't chance doing it with them if they have a 3GS, for fear of them having rhe same trouble.

As ever, with my utmost thanks in advance to anyone who takes the trouble to respond to our queries. I didn't want to start s new thread with my problem being so similar. I also have a 32gb 3GS running 3.1.2 but I don't think tethering is a factor in my case (at least I don't think I've ever attempted it)

I also wondered if the fact that I am running Blackra1n on my G4 Powerbook, rather than on an Intel Dual Core Mac, might be related

Thanks a million for any suggestions with regard to any potential resolution
    Kind Regards
    Bernard

That's why it's called a tethered jailbreak. Because everytime you power off the phone or it crashes or reboots, you need to run blackra1n again with the phone connected to get it back to the normal mode. So far there is no fix for it
