I have a 2nd Generation iPod Touch 8GB. Time and time again I have been able to successfully re-jailbreak the device using Blackra1n (Due to the occasional crippling bug, a restore has been in order several times).
However, Blackra1n has... well, stopped working.
I click Make it Ra1n.
It says entering recovery.
My iPod says Connect to iTunes (via the picture).
Blackra1n says running.
The screen goes black.
Blackra1n says 'Done, wait for reboot' and displays a lovely little success dialog box.
The screen is still black.
No picture of Geo like always... no Blacra1n application like always.
I restore, and it still proceeds to aggravate.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or even better, is there an alternative to Blacka1n for jailbreaking 3.1.2 on a 2nd gen Touch?

I'm having a similar issue with RC3 not working as well. However, i get the picture of geo, but my problem is everything seems to work fine, but I don't get the blackrain icon on my iphone 3gs. Are others have an issue?
Simtech, I'm assuming you were responding to me? I'm not sure what you mean, the blackra1n jailbreak never stalls for me, it runs and works exactly as how it's always done in the past. I'm perplexed on why this is all of a suddenly happening.
OK so here is what i have now... My friend brought me his 2G iphone that i made work just as an ipod using Blackra1n.. it worked great then it crashed bad and i had to restore the phone but it is still on 3.1.2 however now i have tried to run blackra1n about 20 times now and it shows the face does all the steps as before reboots and i dont get the rain icon to set up cydia etc any ideas what is wrong??
I have used blackra1n 3 times on 3 phones and it worked great everytime until this one??
