    Default Problem Jailbreaking 3.1.2 firmware

Hey, I tried using Blackra1n to jailbreak my iPhone, but it just has no effect.

I restored my iPhone to factory 3.1.2 settings because it was pissing me off.
Then i used Blackra1n, made it rain, then it installed, rebooted (though the "wait for reboot" on the program didnt disappear). Then i installed cydia and sn0w, and it still isnt jailbreaked, and its really pissing me off.

    Any advice?

What week was your phone manufactured? Look at the 4th and 5th digits on your box. If the 4th digit is a '4' and your 5th digit is a '0' then you're stuck with a tethered jailbreak.

This means you have to run blackra1n once to jailbreak. Then you have to run it a second time because the first time you ran blackra1n forces a reboot. Now EVERYTIME you reboot, you have to hook up to a computer and run blackra1n once.

Did you get that number off the box for your phone or did you get that number from the back of your phone?

    Fixed it

Open blackra1n on your iPhone, select Cydia and download.

    - In cydia, go to manage > sources > edit > add

    Code:
    cydia.hackulo.us

    - Search for AppSync (thats the patch). Install AppSync.

Basically this had nothing to do with not being jailbroken. It had to do with syncing.

My iPhone had Firmware 3.0 and was jailbroken already. Today I tried to update to Firmware 3.12 through iTunes. After a while it said Error (13) and it only shows that familiar Cable Logo and nothing else happens.

Every time I try to "Restore" it comes back with Error 13. I tried rebooting my computer (Windows7) and iTunes (8.20.23); changed USB ports but nothing seems to work.

Is there any hope of getting my phone back to work and roll back to Firmware 3? If yes, how can I do it.

Please please HELP me out Anyone for which I shall remain ever grateful.

Needless to say and reiterate that I am a big dumbo, stupid, etc etc
    Thanks

Does it mean that you dont need to rejailbreak your phone anymore everytime you reboot your phone?
