Complete Tutorial on Jailbreaking Any Device that Beholds 3.1.2 Firmware on Windows

^^ Title says you must have 3.1.2 Firmware!^^

Aight, so you wanna google "Blackra1n".
The first result should be called blackweather.
Click, scroll down, and click on the logo of operating system.
At this point, remember to click save, rather then open.
Save to desktop and open it.
All it is a button that says "make it ra1n"
let it run, and wait till' reboot.
once you are rebooted, click on the new icon on your springboard called "blackra1n".
Check off cydia, then click install or done, or whatever it says in the corner.

Boom, your Jailbroken.



ERROR CONSOLE:

1. 3G and 3GS systems are tethered (meaning you have to run blackra1n after every reboot).
2. If your facing problems, right click blackra1n on your desktop (or wherever you saved it), click properties, goto the compatibility tab, and run the program in compatibility with XP SP2.

Is there a fix on the 3GS systems that are tethered? I hate having to reboot my device and not having my computer around, even thou it does not happen often but still i would like to have this fix if it's available, Thanks

No such thing as a "fix". An entire new bootrom exploit must be discovered for a non-tethered jailbreak.

quick questions as i can't figure out how to post a new thread (duh!)

i have a jb/unlocked 3gs running 3.0.1/04.26.08. i want to upgrade to 3.1.2 because there are few apps only available on this. i know if i upgrade both the firmware and baseband then i am tethered. don't want this. if i upgrade just to 3.1.2 and keep the 04.26.08 will i still need to be tethered? and if not, is there a windows upgrade or is this solely for mac? thanks!
