Yeah, I just saw that. I spent 2 days getting my 3g JB on the first one.

Doesnt work for me or shall I say, my wife's phone. I was able to jailbreak mine with Blackra1n, but that didnt work on my wife's. now this one doesn't either. Grrrrrr

Thinking it was better than the first i tried again, only to fail again. Ive run it once just normaly (nothing turned off, no secret dance, etc) and i just ran it again with everything off (secret dance, no bonjoure, itunes, etc.) I give up and honestly ill never try using this format of jailbreaking again.

This is just my experiance, and as others have said its worked. I guess i just need to give in and buy a mac.

Also, excuse my spelling im tired.

Yes it is...I was successful with my 3g with the first Blackra1n, think I was just lucky (after about 10 hours of trying). Neither Backra1n or Blackra1n 2 have worked with my wifes phone.

Upgraded to 3.1.2 tonight via itunes 8.2 and used Blackrain to JB my 3G no problem. Was done in about 10 minutes.

Wow-I wonder why that is?? Both of my 3g took forever too. I did someone's 3gs today and it took about 30 seconds. That really pissed me off considering I lost like 3 days trying to get my other 2 to JB and multiple disasters happened. I didn't have itunes on and I didn't do anything with the task manager and closing things down. I had firefox up, rain BR and bam it was done. Have you tried that, not even opening itunes up or if it does open when it notes your phone, just to close it down and try that way? (I'm sure you have but just in case ...)

I'm almost tempted to do my neighbors 3g to see if that would work but she's one of those people that would tell anyone who'd listen that I wrecked her phone somehow. Hmmm, maybe I'll find another neighbor to experiment on

Well after having a martini with the Dali Llama, i have found this...which worked for me the first time...I have the 8gb 3G, running XP, did not turn off any services....this was copied from another site, and mind you I had almost given up on my wife's phone...

Run Blackra!n RC2, when itunes & usb logo comes on .. just disconnect device from the computer, run blacka1n once again.. click make it rain, attach device back to pc.. this time again you'll see the blackra1n wallpaper & in few seconds, your device is jail broken.

so when you go to blackrain.com and hit download you get rc2 now? I have already downloaded blackrain to my desktop but have not used it yet, so do I need to delete that copy and download again?
