blackra1n - Waiting for reboot
No matter what I do, and how many time I try, it WILL NOT re-boot, like it should.
I get the guys picture on my ipod touch 2g, then it loads, and goes black, and said "done, waiting for reboot"
then does nothing.
I've tried it with Itunes on, itunes off, plugged in, not plugged in, turning off ipod service, closing blackra1n and re-opening.
Nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried powering it off (holding home + power button), then pressing the power button to boot it and running blackra1n again?

I've held down the power and home buttons for a while, and nothing happens.
I don't know why it's working for some and not working for others, when I have the same thing everyone else does.

Nope. It didnt do anything. It's just a black screen.
I've restored back to 3.1.2, guess I'm ready to try again.Last edited by eddied316; 10-11-2009 at 08:20 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

It should just turn off at that point.

So I just tried it again, stuck at black screen, held down home and power buttons for 20+ seconds and nothing..
it kind of looks like its off right now...
I've done everything I can think of. I've held home and power, just power, just home, nothing.
Just still black screen.
The only thing I can do now is just restore it via itunes.
lol...okay, I tried it again, this time plugging it into a new USB port, and shut down itunes, and closed ituneshelper.exe, and when it goes black, my computer says, new hardware found (DFU MODE)
Does that help any?Last edited by eddied316; 10-11-2009 at 08:45 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

That's what I do every time.
It keeps doing the same exact thing.

This happened with purplerain, well with me anyways. Here is what will sound like a crazy yet over simplified solution. Simply connect it as normal, make it rain, once the screen goes black wait a moment, unplug the iphone, reconnect it and wait. Did the trick for me...

I never got mine to work. I've tried about 15 times.
I'm beginning to think that it just wont work on some.
We're doing the same thing as everyone else, but yet, it doesnt work. I've given up.

I'm having the exact same problem with my 2G 8GB iPod touch which I bought last week just to jailbreak and hack around. It always hangs at waiting for reboot. The screen on the iPod touch is black. No combination or amount of pressing and holding home and power works to get it back. The only way to resurrect it is to do a restore from of iTunes.

okay. I've found out that my ipod is the 3g, not the 2g, like I thought. Does that help anyone with my situation?
Is there anything that I should be doing differently?
That's the exact same thing that's happening to me...Also you should check your ipod, to see if its the 3g. I also thought mine was 2g, but after looking up the serial number of my friends 2g, and then mine...It's def a 3g.
Her's said Ipod Touch (2nd Generation)
Mine says Ipod Touch (Late 2009)Last edited by eddied316; 10-12-2009 at 10:00 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Maybe we really need to wait greenpois0n....
It's strange, yesterday I just JB my wife's 3G[s] with 3.1.2 together with my ipt2g 3.1.2, without any problem.
All done less than 1 minutes.
Tonight my new bought 3G[s] just do the exactly step to run blackra1n, but it's just blank(black screen) after "Waiting for reboot" and it's not reboot!
I knew GeoHot must know how to fix that little problem, wish he will release a RC2 for us!!!Last edited by chrischua83; 10-12-2009 at 11:28 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I've heaRd that if u have an iPod touch and u model number starts with MC it won't work. That's from geohot. And mine does start with mc. So much for working with all devices
