What's Jailbreak?

QUICKPWN seems to jailbreak but no cydia/installer icons!

Hi,

I'm running on a Mac 10.5.6, iTunes 8.0.2, and an AT&T iPhone 2g. I connected my iPhone via a USB hub, downloaded the firmware titled:

"iPhone1,1_2.2.1_5H11_Restore.ipsw"

...and then ran QuickPwn. I went through all of the steps, it worked fine. I got the "ihaz success!" screen, and my iPhone rebooted. So the jailbreaking process seems to have worked.

However, I cannot see any Cydia or Installer icons. I've looked all over the internet trying to find out what's going on but I'm lost as where to turn.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd love to finally figure this out!

Background: I used to have it jailbroken before upgrading to 2.2.1, but did not save any of the Cydia application's data before upgrading. I do not know if this has anything to do with the problem, but I figured I would give all the info that I had on my issue.

I've also already tried toggling restrictions in general settings, but that didn't work either.

Thanks for the help!

I didn't even get the option to check the boxes...and if it's not already evident I'm not very good with tech

And no I never saw the pineapple logo, but I chose not to replace the logos at one of the first steps in the jailbreaking.

Hopefully the guide will help I guess.

Thanks all

You can backup cydia apps with AptBackup.
If Cydia is hidden, you can use Apt-get and install Quickgold from the SSH prompt.
You can ssh into your phone&delete the files located at/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist and the reboot your phone...
