Need Expert Help! Need to jailbreak - no DFU mode - Home button doesn't work

Long story short, I dropped my iphone 3g in water and everything works fine except the home button doesn't function whatsoever.

I can use the Cydia application "Dock" to switch applications, however in order to jailbreak, I need to put the phone in DFU mode which requires holding the home button at some point.

I have tried using this method also : c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu and it doesn't work apparently with the 3G.

Please can someone point me in the right direction for a jailbreak without having to use the Home button at some point?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Well, you could always go for the pseudo-jailbreak, pusher.

I had the same problem. Turns out my communications board was bad. Picked up a new one on ebay and carefully removed the antenna wires, separated it from the mother board,(you can find this on youtube) and now its working fine. That may not be your problem though. It could also be the main flexcable that is bad. Luckily I had another Iphone to do the elimination with. Good Luck!!!
