for some reason I cant search, but my dad is getting data charges for his 3gs on tmo

they offered that he 1) buy a data package, 2) delete cydia because thats what connects to the web. she told me if we delete cydia, he wont be able to use MMS.


any help?

bs. cydia has nothing to do with mms. but before deleting cydia, add source sinfuliphonerepo.com and search "mms & tethering" and download/install that. that makes sure you can see your data and mms settings in settings--network--cellular data and set it correctly to your carrier (apn, etc) so you can use mms for sure. and make sure under settings--messages that mms is turned on. if it is off, you wont see the camera button beside the send message box. sometimes if you put a non-att sim in an att iphone those settings disappear, they dont want you using your iphone and definitely not data and dont want you enjoying your iphone without their contract and data plan, a deterrent.

you pROBABLY cant search b/c you dont have the proper apn in your cellular data settings. tell me what carrier you use so i can give you the correct settings with a screenshot of where/how to put them.

Are you saying that your Dad uses only wifi? Tmobile now ads on a pay per use for data if you do not have a data plan. So you can either turn it off on the phone or take the smallest data which cost $5 per month.
