i'll be in Europe next month and I was wondering what is the best way to be able to use my iphone there? i know data roaming cost a lot through AT&T. any suggestions??

Describe EUROPE.
If you are country hopping, using wifi and skype is your best solution. If you are going to a certain country for the bulk of your time, AND your iphone is unlocked, buy a "disposable" pre paid card at a telecommunications shop, throw 50 bucks at it for the chip and air time, and at the end of your trip cram it in a memories box or scrap book.
If your iphone is not unlocked / unlockable, you can get a phone with 20 minutes of air time for about 20 Euro in most countries. again, where are you gonna be?
