Default Purchasing Unlocked iPhone From Hong Kong

I am looking for advice for anyone that has purchased an official factory unlocked iPhone from Hong Kong. I have a friend who lives in Hong Kong willing to ship it to me. I need advice to give her. The way I understand it I would just be able to restore with a US ipsw to have english...is that an ignorant statement?
    Thanks!

Edit: I'm an idiot..it was an ignorant statement, you just change the language in settings! I just looked at my Ipod Touch! Arrgh I hate when I do that!

Default I use only Hong Kong Unlocked iPhones

I have prepaid card for 3 HK, China Mobile, ATT go-tone and a post paid for Taiwan Mobile. I am form USA. I have only used the ATT twice. Both times it was 2..... something firmware on a 3G iPhone. I was able to add the media net for a month. But I do not know if they still offer it. Anyway long story short. The HK unlocked will work fine. And you can use T-Mobile also.

Thank you so much for the information...I'm really battling with purchasing a HK unlocked phone or seeing what might come of Verizon and iPhone in the next couple of years.

the other option is since you have American itunes, the HK iphone will revert to english if it is out of the box. I bought a German out of the box, plugged it into US itunes and it started right up in english. make SURE the HK phone has wireless. there are some pretty convincing knock offs but do NOT support GPRS or wireless. rule of thumb: if it looks too good to be true, it probly IS.
Good luck, and let me know how it turned out,
