Boost Mobile?
Will an unlocked 2G work with a Boost Mobile sim?

I thought boost mobile was CDMA?
Nevermind it is IDEN now. So no.Last edited by CaptainChaos; 10-25-2009 at 08:59 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I thought it was CDMA as well since Boost uses the Sprint network. But the dude at Radio Shack said they were actually Nextel phones and had sim cards. So I thought, hmmm...maybe. Guess not. Thanks for the info.
Any chance the official AT&T sim from a 3G[S] will work in a 2G? I am going to be trying to get a 2G that's stuck at the apple logo to work again. I'm just trying to figure out ways to check (and prove) whether it works or not (as a phone, not just booting) after I get done with it.

Cool, thanks for the confirmation. I couldn't remember if I read somewhere that the 3G sim cards wouldn't work in a non-3G phone. That doesn't really make sense, as a 3G card still has to access the normal cell protocols. But you never know with the apple/at&t wondertwins.

Boost Mobile and Nextel (not Sprint, however) does not use either CDMA or GSM, they use the iDEN network which is completely incompatible with GSM or iPhones even though iDEN uses SIM cards like GSM phones.

Actually, Boost Mobile does use SIM cards, just not GSM SIM cards. The use iDEN SIM cards which are not compatible with the iPhone's GSM network.
