the problem is that when i go to settings---network---- there is no cellular data network menu!!!!
there are only
Enable 3G menu
Data romaning menu
Setup internet tathering menu
VPN menu
WiFI menu

while i take out the vodafone egypt sim card and put Etisalat egypt sim card i borrowed from my sister who is on a data plan ....the cellular data network menu was there and the tathering menu was not.

i appreciate ur help and time ....but i was wondering if that is a dead end and that i have to get a vodafone data plan?

not a problem at all...first go to cydia n type"apn" in de search..install the only package that will b found...n ul get ur cellular data network menu...n den in dat...input de apn settings dat vodafone egypt has...m nt sure abt de settings of egypt(obviously.. :P)....

now u gotta edit ur preferences.plist..ssh into ur iphone n go to var prefs systemconfig prefs.plist...edit my above coding with your vodafone egypt settings...

i downloaded APN settings thing from Cydia....installed it....restring...and then nothing

still no Cellular Data netowrk ...

any ideas? and yes iam on firmware 3.0

its gotta come...if it aint..den install supreme preferences n in de phone tab inside de supreme preferences tab, select "cellular data editing"(or sumthng) to "on"...

some info here...
i removed APN and then re installed it and tried to notice the installation process....
and there it was...ended with an error msg
error:file not found in path allow EDGE Editing
error:no key or keypath to set value

chuck dat n enable apn editing via supreme preferences...dude its jus apn enabling...it aint a tough task at all...dunno y u gettn errors fr JUS dat...

at last i have the cellular data network...i just put the APN settings for vodafone Egypt....and it worked...without changing any files......does that mean ia m doing something wrong? or am i done with out changing the file as u said?

if ur accessing de internet wid edge widout modifying de preferences.plist....DEN WOD CUD B DA PROBLEMOO DUDEE.... :P ...

hav no clue bout it...thot it mus b a gps app...bt later hehe...its a theme...i personally HATE themes cz they make me fuckn irritated ven my ipod n facebook crash 2gedr cz of low ram cz of winterboard...so i disable winterboard frm sbsettings...actually m quite fyn widout themes...bt wod de hell il try inav.. :P ...luks gr8 tho...

n itl obv function properly on 3.0 widout any hitches...so go try it...i dun wanna cz of the blank icons..categories...all my imp. stuff in de apps folder...bla bla blahh...
