iphone problem! plz help!

hi,
I bought an iphone 3g 8gb from USA a long time ago
its version is 2.0 and modem firmware 2.28

*I did not know a lot about iphone by that time, i bought and i used a turbosim to work in my country (Cyprus) .
I got the newest sim of my carrier which is Vodafone (a 3g sim)
but one day when i tried to make a call it did not have signal!!
I put my sim into other phone,made a call and then back to iphone and again i had the same problem

I TRIED EVERYTHING!! I can not find a solution it has no signal and then the msg "no sim"

i just wait for the 3.0 to released update it and then unlock it and jailbreak it nut i do not know a lot about this stuff

ANY HELP I WILL BE THANKFUL!!!

If you have modem firmware 2.28 then a turbosim is not needed. Jailbreak your phone and download yellowsn0w. Although I don't see how it can be version 2.0 as this has a different baseband than 2.28. Please go to settings... general... about.. scroll all the way to the bottom and confirm your modem firmware.

i know about yellowsn0w my iphone was jailbreaked with cydia and installer on it.
i tried yellowsn0w but it did not work.
and yeah even if this is so weird my iphone's version is 2.0 and modem firmware 2.28
I DO NOT KNOW HOW CAN THIS BE POSSIBLE I JUST BOUGHT IT LIKE THIS

Could it possibly be your sim card, maybe worth a try to go to your carrier and have them make a new one for you.

i had an old sim card and it worked for 2 days with the turbosim then i found out about a newer version i got one and worked fine until it stopped and from now on i can not use my iphone =[

If you have BB 2.28 and FW2.0 You can just download YellowSn0w and use that.
I would upgrade to 2.20 though (your phone has had it and someone has downgraded). Make sure you do NOT upgrade above 2.20 though unless you really know what you are doing.
With YellowSn0w your phone will work.

i did try yellowsn0w like that but id din not worked..anyway i restored my iphone into 2.2 but when i try to jailbreak it stuck where quickpwn is placing iphone in recovery mode,and it does not go to the next step

What version of iTunes are you using and what version of quickpwn?

GREAT NEWS!! xD after 2 moths my iphone is working on yellowsn0w

just a huge thnx to everyone that bother helping me
i found a video on youtube on how to put your iphone on DFU mode manually i did and then quickpqn was ok
