Existing 02 Customer (UK) - Import Help
Hopefully this is in the right thread.
I'm an existing 02 monthly contract customer (2000min 800text for £20 per month - thanks to rollover)... my contract is up for renewal from 31st October. I called 02 today to see what deals i could get with the iPhone and the guy I was talking to said that the price plans announce with the iPhone were "fenced off" and that they couldn't be changed for existing customers. And that if I wanted the iPhone I would need to pay the £269 plus the £?? a month for 18months.
I have a friend who is coming/going to USA at the end of this month...
Could she buy an iPhone from an Apple Store and bring it home for me?
I follow the guide... its activated/unlocked?
But with the me being with 02 and the iPhone coming to 02... will all the features of the phone work?
Thanks for any information.
Jonathan

If you do not pay for the iPhone specific plan, I am assuming it will be the same as it is with AT&T - your visual voicemail will not work, but everything else should. Of course, this is all speculation based on the Stateside situation, it could change...

Thanks for the information... this make getting one more tempting... no over ever calls me so its unlikely that'll use voice mail.

It will work yes, (once you unlock it) but with not being on the new tariff you miss out on the free Edge & wi-fi access ........ which is the only decent thing with the contract.
I'm using an unlocked phone on Orange in the UK, and there's always plenty of 'free' access points about
