I get no service on roaming with my unlocked iPhone 3G in Japan. I tried to enable and disable 3G, data roaming, restart my iPhone with all the different setting. Since I am going to stay here for 4 months, and I hope my friend will contact me right away with my original number. What should I do at this point to solve this problem?

No, I am using Three Provider from Hong Kong, but I actually got the phone from North America. So I unlocked with turbosim, it work perfect when I was in Hong Kong. But it just cannot work right now in Japan. Please help, because my family/friends are all complaining calling to japan's mobile is very expensive. Thank you!

Japan Networks are 1700 and 2100 mhz. iPhone US version only supports 850/900/1800/1900 so it will not work in Japan. Possibly have a local purchase an unlocked GSM phone for your sim.
