I think that he is using the RUID sim card to store the CDMA info , he is some how extracted the info from re phone and programed the sim...that's how it's done

As Pokekid mentioned, the issue is that MetroPCS uses CDMA and the iPhone is GSM. It's not the SIM card that's the problem but the fact that they use different radio chipsets within the phone. An iPhone will only work on GSM networks as it does not have a CMDA chipset. MetroPCS only uses CDMA so there really isn't any way an iPhone can be on a MetroPCS network. Or a Verizon or Sprint network for that matter.

It is a fancy program in Cydia called Make it Mine that allows you to change the carrier banner to whatever you want, ie. Metro PCS, Verizon etc.. You could change the carrier name to your name but in the end you will still need to have a GSM Carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile to use it. The CDMA is not compatible for Metro, you were just a victim of a iPhone prank... Sorry no dice for Metro..

Zer0Kewl1, there is technologically no way that it is possible to have an iPhone on a CDMA network like MetroPCS. So please ask your AOL buddy and friend's friend about it because the three answers you've gotten on this forum have all been correct.

I guess that you could open up your iPhone, then change the GSM signal card or whatever to CDMA. But, that would be way to much trouble than it's worth. It also probably will not work. There is no way that you can make a GSM phone work on the CDMA network.

Details ... details ... details.
We'ld like to believe you (even though it seems technically impossible). So, help us out here.... saying it 'works' without details will satisfy no-one!!
Like the Vietnamese chop-shop who removed and reprogrammed the broadband chip --- all for $100. Anything is possible, but the devil is in the details.
