ive seen similar topics but none answerd my question

when i press the voicemail button it calls 901, i do not get any visual voicemail.
im on an o2 simplicity contract, (not iphone) how do i go about getting visual voicemail??

(may sound stupid but i noticed an option in network which is VPN-- what does thins mean?)
