Coming to Canada
Hey guys iI just have a quick question. I will be visiting toronto in a couple of days and i wanted to get an iPhone while im up there. My question is is it possible to sign up for a plan if i dont live there and if so is it possible to cancel after a month what are the charges in that? Thanks for replying

it depends where you live? if you live in the states there is no point getting a iphone from canada as fido and rogers both will tell you to sign a 3 year agreement. There will be no point in canceling after a month because you will have to pay a penalty since you will be breaking the 3 year contract. The penalty can go from anywhere to $200 - $400

Rogers/Fido won't sell the iPhone without a contract, and won't sell to a billing address outside Canada.
Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.

do you have to activate it in the store in canada? if not then just buy it and wait for the unlock for iphone 3g's to come out. The dev team works miracles.
If I helped you out in any way, hit the Thanks Button.

you have to sign a 3-year deal with Rogers or Fido. So, yes, you DO have to activate it in store.
