"Sim Update Fail 2" ?? (Rogers)
I had weird message come up on my iPhone today (Nov 1). The message "Sim Update Fail 2" came up in it's own window along with two buttons: "Cancel" and "Accept". A small "Back" button was also at the top of the screen and I hit that as I was worried I might get locked down if I hit one of the larger buttons. Any idea what this is about? I assume it may be an update to the Sim from Rogers (my carrier). Or maybe it's AnySim trying something to keep it unlocked (I don't know if it needs to keep working on-going)?
I only just unlocked this phone a couple days ago using the pf downgrade/upgrade and AnySim 1.1 method. It's running fw 1.1.1.
Any ideas?
Thanks for viewing, and for any help.

Hmmm... tell them? Wouldn't that just cause more problems? Maybe I should just switch my Sim back to the old phone for a day or two to let it get the Rogers update.
But so far as you know, this isn't an AnySim issue?
Thanks.

If it is, I've never heard of it. But then again, I didn't use AnySIM. Maybe someone who did could shed some light.

Rogers doesnt care that you have an Iphone. Well they do but the support person you get won't. He probably will be jealous that you have one. I would a) Ignore it. or b) call Rogers and tell them you have an iPhone. I'm 90% sure that they'll say they dont support your phone and that they can't help. If you get a geek, he'll gladly help you troubleshoot.
Did you upgrade to 1.1.1? Whats the difference. I'm still on 1.0.2 trying to Man Up and install 1.1.1.

Rogers indeed doesn't care if you have an iPhone, they simply treat it as any number of other unsupported devices. They can't help you with walk throughs, but they can still troubleshoot network problems and provide any settings (like EDGE) that you may need. Remeber, under Canadian and (currently) American law, its not illegal to unlock a phone for use with other carriers.

I never seen this error before until now, last night my phone dropped on the floor, so this could be a cause of it!?
