Sorry I didn't have a better way to name this. My issue is the way the numbers are stored in the iphone. I'm using vodafone New Zealand. if I put the number in for a person's mobile as 021 555 555 then when they call the name shows up right. Problem is, when they send a text it comes from +64 21 555 5555, using the country code prefix. Now if I change my contact to have the country code, then when they call the caller ID no longer identifies them

Anyone have any ideas on whether I can do anything about this?

There isn't solution about this.
But you can add in the same contact, the person's mobile with and without country code prefix.
