Accidently unlocked 1.0 phone...

So, small town ATT store is not only not selling 1.1.1 phones , they are selling 1.0 phones.

I accidentally unlocked one of these. I had wrongly assumed to have the 1.0.2 software already on it.

Can I somehow reset the phone and upgrade to 1.0.2? Or am I screwed?

Well, I was able to restore and upgrade to 1.0.2, so I should be fine from now I think.

I'll have to check on the modem firmware. I don't quite remember it and I have to go about re-unlocking the phone.

Okay, here is the story.

I got an older iPhone, v 1.0, and accidentally unlocked it fully. I had put my T-Mobile SIM into it and saw No Service on the carrier area. I had unlocked on previously and it worked fine, so I was a bit stumped.

Anyway, I was able to fresh upgrade it to 1.0.2 . However, I am having the same problem again. No Service.

Phone is 1.0.2 and modem is 03.14.08_G

Any help?

I have a same query as well. I thought I have a 1.0.2 but it end up 1.0 only. I just finished doing the jail break but I didn't continue anymore for the instructions cleary state that I need to be in 1.0.2 firmware before I can unlock it. I don't want it to end up being bricked.

Is upgrading to firmware 1.0.2 same as restoring 1.0.2? Please help.

Fixed it.

You need to SSH into the phone from the Mac OSX Terminal and run bbupdater.

It's a bit technical, but it's working for me now. T-Mobile FTW.
