"transmit" not connecting via SSH
I have Erica's tools, BSD, and SSH installed on the phone and just downloaded transmit to my MAC. It is not connecting and I have never used SSH before (I am trying to learn). so please tell me what the issue could be.
I obtained the correct IP from my iPhone>settings>network and typed in the standard "root" and "dottie" but I am not able to connect.

The SSH daemon runs on port 22.
Also, you don't need to obscure your IP if it's a 192 address. That's a private IP range.

Thank you, but unfortunately that did not help. I put it on 22 and it instantly pops up "invalid reply from server"

should it be on SFTP instead of FTP?
EDIT: answered my own question, the answer was yes

I have the same problem.
I installed Open SSH, and BSD tools. When I try to connect to my iphone with transmit, it says "invalid reply from server".
any suggestions? all the settings seem to be fine (port 22, FTP)

you need to ssh in first so a key is created and added to your know hosts file
