Depending on how you did the jailbreak, you may not have the afc2 service installed which it might need (haven't tested it). Actually, I just Googled and it does need afc2 for the phone to be "unshackled" (should just pick on your tool for not actually "jailbreaking" you phone - installing the afc2 service is the original meaning of jailbreak).

Try searching for afc2 here and installing that.

Can you tell how to start te Transmit? I tried putting my IP address of my Iphone and then using the root and alpine for password. Can you tell me how to connect from tranmit to my iphone? Thanks in advance.

i tried tramsmit --- but i cannot connect my iPhone ... i tried with the Iphone name .... with iphone IP (via Wireless) but i receive "permission denied" .... can u help me ....

i find incredible that with windoes you can easly browse iphone ... and with mac no .... incredible ...

actually with both you can use diskaid, as i have a pc and mac and use it on both and by far the best browser, connects usb so no login password connection crap! check it out its free

I'd recommend iPhone Explorer by myPodApps.com. It's freeware, and probably one of the simplest program out there to use. It uses the standard USB interface (not an FTP interface), so you just plug in the iPod and it goes. It works on jailbreaked and non-jailbreaked iPhones/iTouches and everything is also drag-and-drop, which makes using it really quick.

If you want to SSH the device, then use Transmit, a beautifully simple FTP app, however, one app that has so far not been spoken off here that should be on the tip of everyones tongue is 'PhoneView', it allows you to connect your jailbroken or non-jailbroken ipod/ iphone to your mac via USB, where you can then navigate your way through the various files within, plus if you need to do some serious prowling in all the files you need to tamper with for modding, then go to the preferences and tick 'show full disk mode'.

Really is a perfect addition to every mac owner with an iPod or iPhone, simple, quick, easy and best of all.. non wireless!
