    Default OpenSSH and Battery

I read somewhere that OpenSSH on your phone tends to kill your battery a bit. (Mine doesn't tend to last more than 12-14 hrs

    1. Is this true?

    2. If so, is there any reason not to uninstall (via iFuntastic or whatever)?

Thanks for all of your hard work. You rock.

    Talking that's probably true...

But ya know what? I know for damn sure we play with our phones a hell of a lot more now and that has to have something to do with it

    Definitely true!

    And absolutely worth it.

But the question remains...is OpenSSH necessary once you're unlocked? And if not, would it be dangerous to remove it now?

openssh does drain your battery because it keeps a communication "port" open so that it can connect(when ur ready). But you don't have to remove the program, you can just turn it off/on with Uictl. =)

under apptapp you will find uictl, download it, restart your iphone, open uictl, scroll down to were it say "com.openssh.sshd, click on it, from the menu click "unload-w", click "do-it" , thats it. com.openssh.sshd should now be in red. To turn back on go through same steps and click "load-w" wahla

I agree with rx2mazda, I unload and load when needed, works great! However, be very very careful in the 'uictl' app, turning other things on and off can cause weird results! I only use 'uictl' to unload / load SSH.
