"jailbreak" mac

i just saw the keynote from apple. they are making an app store for macs: i was thinking saurik should hop on this, along with jailbreak devs and create a cydia for mac. i guarantee the app store on the mac will have strict rules for apps. if they were to make a cydia for mac you could possibly have just as big of a hacking/modding base as the iDevices.

considering the base of jailbreak is obtaining root access, and you obviously have root access on your computer, then you should be able to create a secondary store with the freedom of cydia. also with this development you could have it install the same way (just like the app store), which way more people would like.

please say what you think about this in the comments, I really hope this is possible.

if this happens steve jobs may just break out in butt hurt tears on stage

You can still install programs normally and still have regular user priveleges with osx lion. AppStore is a secondary way to install programs.

How is that "haters gonna hate?" I was simply looking at the reason why Cydia is created and applied it to the Mac OS X version. But, it is clear now due to competition.

I've heard rumors about Cydia coming to Mac... I have no idea if they are credible or not though.

Cydia is coming to mac, including cydia substrate which will allow for a whole new variety of tweaking opportunity on Mac OS X, just as it has for iOS, it's just a matter of time before it's released: Cydia For Mac OS X To Come Out Soon, Will Use CydiaSubstrate

Good point seems like that, even if someone did an online webpage of all the mods like a digital hub it would be good?
