Error Main script execution failed! (1.1.4)

So I decided to hack my iPhone.

I'm on a Mac and I used iNdependence.

Installer is on my iPhone but whenever I tried to install anything it gives me the MSEF message.

What did I do wrong?

I searched the forums and nothing was helpful.

Sigma4Life solution saved me from having to do a Restore.. try his suggestion

"Main Script Execution Failed" solution:
Term-vt100 > type: alpine > type: chmod ug+s /Applications/Installer.app/Installer > Exit Term-vt100

Hope it works for you too

Well, If you haven't installed vt100 or OpenSSH I don't know of a good way to get you on the filesystem to fix the problem. If I were in your boat I would just RESTORE to 1.1.4 then use either ZiPhone or iPlus.

Good solution, but avoid the mess independence creates and just use ziphone or iplus next time (preferably ziphone 2.5)

i dont have term-vt100 installed.... and if i want to install it.... the error message comes!

I had the same problem. Open the installer and click reload.

I hope you can help me, I just jailbroke my iPhone 1.1.3 and when I try to install some app. using Installer, on some of them, like PDF Viewer, I get a message error that says: ERROR package download failed! I have tried to download Lighttpd and it went through but I also tried to install PHP from the Developement section but it doesn't go through giving me the aforementioned Error message. Thank you in advance. George.

Hey I finally installed the fix that has allowed me to login to vt100 now...

When i tried your solution it says that it cannot find the folder what could be the problem

i can not install term-100 .. how can i use this command via ssh over the mac terminal ... or can i change this with cyberduck ... What does that terminal command do anyway?

I had the same problem with installer. I couldnt install, unistall or upgrade anything. I just kept getting the main scrpit execution failed mess.

So i just used my Ziphone 3.0 and clicked on only the Jailbreak tab and it put my phone to the connect to itunes display so then i clicked the jailbreak tab once more and it jailbroke and installed installer over again AND IT DID NOT ERASE OR DAMAGE any other app or program on my iphone with 1.1.4. AND NOW INSTALLER WORKS PERFECT....THANKS BRO

universal solution for "main script execution failed" error

1. open Terminal(mac)/Putty(win)
2. enter these:

chmod -R 777 /Applications/*
chmod +s /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app

It works 100% after this you need to install "BossTools" and relocate applications too free up the disc space for new ones...

I getting this message :
You must supply a numeric argument to the chmod command.

I am from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 can't connect to iTunes, can't instal BSD subsystem, iPod not working, can you, pleaaase, help?
