I had the same problem with installer. I couldnt install, unistall or upgrade anything. I just kept getting the main scrpit execution failed mess.

So i just used my Ziphone 3.0 and clicked on only the Jailbreak tab and it put my phone to the connect to itunes display so then i clicked the jailbreak tab once more and it jailbroke and installed installer over again AND IT DID NOT ERASE OR DAMAGE any other app or program on my iphone with 1.1.4. AND NOW INSTALLER WORKS PERFECT....THANKS BRO

universal solution for "main script execution failed" error

1. open Terminal(mac)/Putty(win)
2. enter these:

chmod -R 777 /Applications/*
chmod +s /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app

It works 100% after this you need to install "BossTools" and relocate applications too free up the disc space for new ones...

I getting this message :
You must supply a numeric argument to the chmod command.

I am from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 can't connect to iTunes, can't instal BSD subsystem, iPod not working, can you, pleaaase, help?

hey ,,,

i did go to the terminal & pasted whch u explained but nothing works on my iphone 1.1.4 when i download " suid lib fix " cannot install it shows the download package and even the line ends n error pops up " main script execution failed " i have did evrything but nothing works can u please help as i can download everyhting else except this ....
