itunes will not sync with iphoto on 3gs

I just picked up a 3gs to replace my old 2g iphone. When I connected it up it wanted itunes 8.2 so I upgraded. When I tell it to sync it syncs everything (contacts.email",etc) except iphoto. it displays error "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone 'xxx 3gs". An unknown error occurred (1102).

If I select folder and choose a folder with pictures in it then it sync that folder but on iphone pictures are not in categories the way they are when done with iphoto.

Has anyone else seen this ?

what you need to do is delete the "ipod cache" folder where all your pics are. then you will be able to sync your photos.

update:
well turns out it is not a phone thing. My wife decided to keep my 2g phone. I updated it to 3.0 ( non jail broken) and itunes shows the same behavior, so it's itunes. Trying to find where itunes holds the entries that it displays for iphoto.
