Use a video conversion software (search Google, plenty of freeware ones for OS X and Windows both) and convert to .m4v or .h264 and import to iTunes, then sync.

if i click on a link that links to an .mpg - i get Safari can't open this file - or on a page with an mp4 embeded it just shows up as a little play button greyed out

ie: check this on iPhone- http://jdhfilms.com/trailer.html

apple's website of quicktime movies works fine of course...

    Smile Have a try

    Convert mpeg to iphone?
I always use [URL=L] to convert all the popular video to iPhone which performs well.
