please help photoshop and icon making

ok so i have noticed that alot of people are designing icons and switchers and all that my question is can someone make a guide that would give a basic formula to making icons. dw left a guide on how to make carrier icons using photoshop and i wonder if someone could do the same for icons as well

there is no one way to make icons..

and photoshop is a long term learning process it doesnt happen that quick..

Ive been using it for 7 years and I consider myself ok with it. It takes a long time to use photoshop to its potential and not something a guide will walk ya thru..

You can however see if there is any photoshop actions that might help you.
