Please help! Guide for dummies Terminal, setting permissions

Hi, Thank you for the wonderful guide for unlocking! However, I don't understand how to set permissions in Terminal so that I can copy the unlock.app into the Applications folder. Also, I can't even do the previous step and copy lockdownd to my librarything (sorry) folder. I always get the message that I don't have permission to do this. Would it be possible to set up a guide for total idiots such as me with lots of screencaps?
