Confused. Could someone please help me with upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3?

Hi everyone,

With all the upgrades and jailbreaking involved, I am utterly frightened and confused with what I need to do to upgrade my iphone from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3. Currently I am on the AT&T network, running on a Mac, have firmware 1.1.1, and of course, jailbroken.

So how do I upgrade to 1.1.3? I've been reading the threads and posts and I'm more confused then ever. Please help!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

download 1.1.3 firmware put phone in DFU mode alt restore to 1.1.3 firmware you downloaded jailbreak with Ziphone Or independence

How do you put the iphone in DFU mode?

And which jailbreaking method do you recommend? Which is easier?

use ziphone to jailbreak your iphone. also ziphone will put your phone in DFU mode. Just click on the "Advanced features" tab and you will see an option that says "DFU Mode". just click on that and you'll be set.

Ok, so gonna go with Ziphone to "restore/upgrade" to 1.1.3.

The new version of ZiPhone is 2.5 right?

And do you know if Customize & Summerboard works with 1.1.3? Would I have to manually install it or would it show up in Installer? And when I use Ziphone, will Installer be installed automatically?

From what I have read Summerboard works with 1.1.3 but Customize will not without some additional "hackery".

Installer will be installed if you use ZiPhone. Also make sure you install the "ZiPhone iBrickr Fix" that you will find in Installer.app under "Unlocking Tools". This is so that your iPhone will be recognised as Jailbroken by iNdependence should you want to change your root password.
